Chbar Mon Town

The province of Kampong Speu is located in Cambodia. To the north are the provinces of Pursat and Kampong Chhnang; to the east are the provinces of Kandal; to the southeast are the provinces of Takéo; to the south are the provinces of Kampot; and to the west are the provinces of Koh Kong. Chbar Mon is the town that serves as its capital.

1. Phnom Aural

the highest point in Cambodia is called Phnom Aural. According to some reports, its height ranges from 1,771 to 1,667 meters, although its actual height is 1,813. The Cardamom Mountains’ eastern region contains it. Phnom Aural Wildlife Sanctuary was created to save the highlands’ biodiversity. Located in Kampong Speu province’s Aoral District lies this peak.

2. Oudong

Oudong was the royal home and capital of Cambodia for more than 250 years until 1866. It is situated at the base of the Phnom Oudong mountain, some 40 km northwest of the country’s present-day capital, Phnom Penh. Scattered atop the notable bisected mountain that extends from southeast to northeast is a huge royal necropolis of sovereigns spanning numerous centuries.
